REFLECTION

This quarter has the most difficult lesson yet enjoying. This quarter also passed so fast. I have learned how to create a web design. It is so hard to do it, it takes a lot of patience and you need to become industrious. I am not an expert when it comes to this kind of activity. I have gone to many trials because the work was deleted but I continued to do it. It came to a point that I am so angry and mad and did not have the courage to continue, I worked for it. Work hard if you want success.

Violence Against Women and their Children (VAWC) is defined as an act or series of acts committed by any person against a woman who is his wife or former wife. VAWC is also called as Republic Act 9262.

            The concept of violence is not just about the physical violence, it also includes the sexual violence, psychological violence, and economic abuse such as threats, assault, or harassment. Women in society must be treated well. They must be respected and be loved. Women also needs care just what they are doing as a mother. They do not deserve abuse. Women are the one who takes care of us when we are a child, your mother. Amidst all the sacrifices they did just to make you lived, they have done many thing to give you a better life. We can hear on the radio, we can see at the television that women nowadays are becoming a victim of different abuse. Whether here in the Philippines or in abroad. Republic Act 9262 was implemented to protect women from abuses. But base from the observations, there are still women who are abused but it decreased.

            Women are not animals. Treat them well just like how they treat you, love them just like how they love you, respect them for you to be respected.

ESSENCE OF CHRISTMAS

When the month of December arrives, we all think of Christmas. Christmas is being celebrated every 25 of December. This is the month when Jesus Christ was born. Christmas is about not only giving gifts and about receiving gifts; this is also the season of caring, helping, loving, forgiving, and sharing. Christmas is being celebrated to remember the birth of Jesus Christ, the only Son of God.

This is a special season, a season of joy, peace, and great tidings; these are the true essence of Christmas. Christmas is not just about time for festivity or merry making, it is a time for the contemplation of eternal things. The spirit of Christmas is spirit of giving and forgiving. This season encourages us to share love with others, to embrace peace and be our brother’s keeper. We shall always be willing to give a helping hand to those who are in need and less fortunate, give comfort to the vulnerable ones. Christmas is also the time for us to understand the lessons from Jesus and we must reflect on them. For other people, Christmas is a time of sorrow because they do not have an extra money to buy presents for their kids, family, and friends. However, it is still okay if you do not have any gifts to give as long as you love and care for that person. This is a season of great joy.

So, let us be human and kind enough to remember and to show some love to those who are helpless, motherless babies, hospital patients, prisoners, beggars, and to those who are less fortunate. Let us spread the true essence of Christmas.

Healthy Environment

A healthy environment is the key to a healthy life. Our environment is one of the blessings and gifts of our savior, Jesus Christ. We cannot live without our environment because it is where we live in. 

            Taking good care of nature is very important and can have a good impacts and results in our lives. Living in a healthy, clean, and green environment is necessary in order for us to be healthy and free from diseases. We should know how to take good care of our environment. Doing simple things like planting trees, cleaning our surroundings, not burning plastics, recycling, can be helpful in maintaining the environment healthy. Obeying the simple rules to make our environment better can also help. Doing illegal activities like mining, dynamite fishing, illegal logging and burning is not beneficial to our nature and to us humans also. We are all aware of the fire that lately happened in Amazon and it destroyed the wildfire where mostly all of the animals live. The Earth is now dying compared to the past years. There is a big change on its physical appearance the past years up to the present; this is because of the inappropriate doings of humans.

            We, us one, should protect and save our nature because it is where we get our resources in our everyday lives in order for us to survive and as I said this is where we live in. Take good care of nature so that it will provide us everything that we need.

A Month for Children

All of us had experienced being a child. When we are still young, all we want is to play around, play with other kids, with neighbors. All we want is to sleep, eat, and play. All of us have childhood memories that we will never forget. Children has the right to enjoy their childhood.

            Children’s month celebrated during the month of November.  The theme for this year’s celebration is "Karapatang Pambata: Patuloy na Pahalagaha at Gampanan tungo sa Magandang Kinabukasan".
 

Children must be taken good care because they are the happiness and a symbolism of true love of partners. Children must be loved and not to be abused. We can all see the children that are on the streets, scattering, this is because their parents do not know how to handle and manage their kids and their family. We should give the kids their rights and freedom to be a kid and experience happiness while they are still kids. They should not be the one who is doing work for their parents and families. Childhood is just a once in a lifetime experience. We should give them freedom to do whatever they want as long as it is good and cannot harm others.

            Children are to be taken good care, not to be treated like an animal. Give them freedom and happiness because this is all they want.

Filipino Values Month

"Pamilyang Pilipino Patatagin: Susi sa Paghubog ng Kabataang Maka-Diyos, Makatao, Makakalikasan, at Makabansa" is the theme for this 2019 Values month. As the word value indicate, this month is dedicated to improve the morals and values of everyone especially on students that’s why this values month is also celebrated in schools.

        Values of a person makes him as a person and describes what kind of person you are, if you have good attitude, then you’re a good person and you have good intentions in life, while when you have bad attitudes and you don’t know what’s right over wrong, then you’re a bad person. Being kind to other people is also a good practice. Having respect to the person who is older than you are and to your parents is a good value, helping the less fortunate people in just a small and simple ways is also a good practice. We should always remember the saying ‘’No man is an island”. This means that we cannot live alone or by our own. We need others in order to live because we cannot provide or even produce everything that we need, we need others, and because of this, we should know how to care, love, and accept them by showing good attitude and good morals to them. We should do good thing upon them and show good values to them.

            Values month celebrated in schools also and there are many activities intended for this celebration, like spoken poetry, essay-writing contest, and many more. Students and kids should be educated in doing good and showing appropriate attitude and value so that they will become a successful and better person in the future.

Unity of Nations

United Nations Month is celebrated during the month of October. This is organization is responsible for maintaining international peace and security, develops friendly relationship among nations, attaining international cooperation, and this serves as a center for harmonizing the actions of nations. This celebration shows that they are going strong and they are helping each other to improve and to attain success on their country.

October 24, 1945 at San Francisco, California when this organization officially comes into existence. There are 193 countries that are member states of the United Nations. The main bodies or the principal organs of this intergovernmental organization are; Secretary General, Security Council, Economic and Social Council, Trusteeship Council, International Court of Justice, and Secretariat. This is the largest, most popular, and most powerful organization in the world. The headquarter of the United Nation is in New York City. There are also six official languages involved, these are Arabic, English, Russian, Chinese, French, and Spanish. The theme for this years United Nation is “Indigenous Languages Matter for Sustainable Development, Peace Building and Reconciliation. This unity of nations plays an important for the fact that the other nations serve as their companion in achieving one’s success and progress. Unity is being made. Countries that are not yet progressive can gain progress with the help of other countries. This also serves as a savior because when time comes that they need support, the other countries that are involved in this organization will give their best to give their aid or support to that country.

United Nations is one of our companion. Let’s help each other and make a change.

Second Step of My Journey

For this second quarter, another learning have come and imparted to me. Yes, learning isn't easy but its worth it. For this quarter, I can say that I enjoyed blogging as well as in creating HTMLs. Blogging was fun because you can express well your thoughts. In creating HTMLs on the other side, I am a little bit more nervous in doing those activities because it was my very first time in doing such thing, but I still enjoyed and learned something new. Moving on to the next grading, I hope that my skills and knowledge will become wider as I go on with the help of our teacher.

Our Greatest Heroes

If teachers are not existing, can you imagine the world? Do you think doctors, engineers, policemen/women, architects, businessmen/women, politicians and other professionals would exist if teachers are not here?

            My Teacher, My Hero. It is truly that our teachers are our heroes. They sacrifice their time in teaching us every day, they don’t even have enough time for their family and a time to rest, they spend most of their hours in school just to teach us and just to finish their works. Because of them, we were able to know about the things around us, we were able to know how to read, write, and solve simple problems. With them, our knowledge is becoming wider. Teachers are our second parents, cause just like our parents, all they want for us is to be a good and a better person. Teachers also help our parents in molding us. They are a part of our journey in achieving our dreams and ambitions in life. They teach us the things that we need in the future, things that would help us in becoming a successful person. They impart knowledge for our betterment. Teachers want to see us, their students, successful, this is only the thing that would make them happy because they have done successfully their part as our instructors. 

            Let’s respect, love, and treat our teachers as our second parents. They deserve to be loved and respected because they are our lights in becoming who we really are, they provide guidance to us. They are one of the reasons behind anybody’s success. KUDOS OUR DEAR TEACHERS!

Intramurals

Volleyball, badminton, swimming, table tennis, archery, soccer, basketball. This are just some of the sports that the student athletes play when the intramurals arrive. “Forging our Values and Character as Louisian Missionaries in Sustaining a Transformed Community’’, is the theme for this year’s intramurals. 

Intramurals aim to develop the skills and talents of very students especially on area of sports. Every school celebrates this kind of event. This event provides experience, happiness, and enjoyment on every student. With this intramurals, the student athletes learn the value of sportsmanship among their opponent, hard work and persistence is also developed. It can also strengthen one’s body by doing some trainings, for the body to be strong, and can improve one’s health. 

In our school, there are also a lot of student athletes and some have gone through different parts of the world just to compete and to represent our school. This only shows that the talents of the students when it comes to sports is a kind of world class talent. For the students, they should not be afraid to show their talents and skills on sports. For the teachers or coaches, be patient in guiding the kids and you should be the one showing that sports have a lot of benefits. It is very important to join some sports.

Celebrating the World of Science

 “Metabolize: Nourishing the Filipino Youth towards Nutritional Well-being”. This is the theme for this year’s National Science Month celebration. The National Science Day is being celebrated every year to widely spread a message about the importance of science used in the daily life of the people. To display all the activities, efforts and achievements in the field of science for human welfare. As we all know, science is everywhere. 

The Science Month celebration aims to develop and improve the skills, critical thinking, and knowledge of every student by participating on the different kinds of activities. Some activities involve the science exhibits wherein all the science projects, trivia, and experiments are posted and the students should go and look the exhibit. Science tricks are also involved in this celebration wherein all students per year level should have a one sci-trick to perform and to explain and it is categorized by the different classifications of science. The students also help the school to become clean and free from plastics by collecting all plastic bottles and turn them into some useful materials. There is also a search for G. at Bb. Kalikasan, this is the highlight for the Science Month celebration. There is also an activity for the singers naming the Himig Kalikasan wherein the interested students should sing a song about our environment. There is also a camping and is camping aims to protect the environment by doing simple activities like coastal clean-up and tree planting. 

The science month is full of excitement. Every student must participate on the activities so that they will gain knowledge and have some fun. With the help of this activities, you will able to learn and discover new things in your life.

Solidarity=Unity

Solidarity… Solidarity means unity or agreement of feelings or actions especially among individuals with a common interests and it is a mutual support within a group.

            Solidarity is very important to us and is very useful for us. With solidarity, we can be as one and we can do things as one. We can do lot of things or work with unity rather than working on your own. The work becomes lighter when someone is there to help us.

It is also a way of having a communication to other people to know their thoughts on that particular subject and for you to make an agreement. It is a mutual support within the group in the sense that you and the other persons on your group supports the decision of the one member and not contradicting what he is saying or doing. Solidarity is an awareness of shared interests, objectives, standards, and sympathies creating a psychological sense of unity of groups or classes. It is like aa tie in a society that binds people together.

In our city, Vigan, every September, the city commemorates the World Heritage Cities Solidarity Cultural Festival. It aims to make the pride, history, and cultures to become stronger. Solidarity promotes friendship between other countries. There are also different activities involved in this celebration. One of these is zarsuela ilocana, historia oral, sabayang pagbigkas, daniw, folk dance, solidarity games and many more. 

Solidarity makes Unity.

A Happy School for A Happy Kid

Happy Schools Movement. This is a movement which advocates to promote that every school should be safe, should be better, and a school should be an enjoyable place to learn for the students.

           

     Happy Schools Movement or the HSM aims to provide the children a school that is trusted and safe. We all know that the school is our second home. So just like in our home, we should be safe on any harm of hazards that may come to us. Because the school is said to be our second home, they should provide facilities to ensure safety, should provide a clean environment in order for the students to be away from diseases like dengue. The school should be totally secured and should have a proper security system for the students.

            

      Happy Schools Movement also look for the betterment of the schoolchildren. When the school that we’re in is we can say that it’s the best school, ten it is expected that the students in that school can be a better person, can achieve their ambitions and it is expected that most of the students will graduate and will have a successful life in the future. We can say that the school is the best when the teachers and employees are good in doing their part and obligations, so the good doings also reflects on the students.

         

     Happy Schools Movement give the students an enjoyable place to learn. Children nowadays can easily get bored, so this HSM offers and enjoyable school for the children. Enjoyable in the sense that the students will also have fun in studying, the students will also have a time to enjoy, for them to rest their minds in thinking the whole day, and also to avoid stress to the children or to the students.
